Advanced Practice Provider (Psychiatric)

ESSENTIAL DUTIES
- Provides patient assessment, diagnosis, and treatment plans in accordance with regulations and protocols regulating the profession.
- Obtains and accurately documents relevant health histories, with emphasis on mental health.
- Performs comprehensive psychiatric health services.
- Elicits information from multiple sources using assessment techniques that are appropriate to the client’s language, culture, and developmental stage.
- Prescribes psychotropic and related medications based on clinical indicators.
- Meets productivity requirements of 50% direct practice.
- Educates clients, and family members if appropriate, on a variety of health-related topics.
- Participates in emergency response activities as assigned.
- Maintains confidentiality of privileged information and adheres to patient privacy laws.
- Demonstrates sensitivity and understanding of other ethnic groups, cultures, and sexual orientations.
- Available to respond to clients and/or customers including afterhours availability.
- Attend staff meetings and provides nursing input on treatment/service plans.
- Meets with Medical Director as needed.
- Follow protocols for documentation per Bureau of Medical Facilities Licensing (BMFL), hospital, insurance company guidelines, and standard practices of care.
- Assists in developing or revising policies and procedures relating to medication management.
- Provides MAT services as needed in the clinic.
- Participate in the organization Quality Improvement Program through incident reporting and identifying opportunities for improvement.
Minimum Requirement
Master’s Degree in Advanced Practice Nursing from a program that is fully accredited during the entire time of the practitioner’s attendance. Five (5) years experience working as psychiatric or advance practice nurse. Must have a current, unrestricted license issued by the Arizona State Board of Nursing and current Board Certification with the American Nurses Credentialing Center (ANCC). This position is covered by Public Law 101-630, requiring contact or control over Indian children. Due to this requirement, the agency must ensure that persons hired for these positions have not been found guilty of or pleaded nolo contendere or guilty to certain crimes. Must be current with required immunization per the NACA HR Policies and Procedures and Infection Control Policy Level I Fingerprint Clearance, BLS and HIPAA Certification. Possess a valid Arizona Driver’s License. Must pass a background criminal investigation.

- Excellent oral and written communication skills and interpersonal skills.
- Strong clinical skills to diagnose and treat behavioral health issues.
- DSM-V diagnosis. Current medication and treatments.
