Physician

Salary: $180,000 – $190,000 annually — $500 signing bonus

Job Type: Full-time (Exempt)

ESSENTIAL DUTIES

  • Establishes and maintains professional relationships with patients to ensure personalized and effective care.
  • Provides comprehensive primary care services to a diverse patient population.
  • Embraces the principles of the Patient-Centered Medical Home model to deliver coordinated, accessible, and patient-centered care.
  • Collaborates with interdisciplinary team to coordinate patient care and promote continuity of care.
  • Refers for laboratory and radiology test(s) when appropriate.
  • Makes referrals to specialty services when medically recommended for the patient.
  • Interprets and analyzes reports, test results, medical records, and examinations to diagnose the condition of patients for treatment options.
  • Utilizes evidence-based practices to diagnose and treat a wide range of acute and chronic medical conditions.
  • Recommends and prescribes pharmaceuticals as appropriate for the treatment of medical conditions.
  • Educates patients on preventive care measures, treatment options, lifestyle modifications, and medications including potential side effects.
  • Records and maintains complete, timely and legible medical records after each patient is treated.
  • Assist with the development and revisions of the clinic policies and procedures.
  • Participates on the Medical Executive Committee and Provider Peer Reviews.
  • Supervise the medical assistant activities per the Arizona Medical Board Medical Assistant at the NACA FHC.
  • May delegate non-clinical supervision of MAs to the Registered Nurse.
  • Will present quality of care issues, concerns, and plans to improve quality of care at NACA FHC to the CEO, and to the NACA Board of Directors as requested.
  • Attends Directors, Leadership, Medical Executive, and Board meetings.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENT

MD or DO Degree from an accredited medical school. Three (3) or more years of residency experience. Three (3) or more years of practice experience outside of residency experience. Experience with population health management a bonus. Experience with Native American health issues desired but not required. This position is covered by Public Law 101-630, requiring contact or control over Indian children. Due to this requirement, the agency must ensure that persons hired for these positions have not been found guilty of or pleaded nolo contendere or guilty to certain crimes. Must be current with required immunization per the NACA HR Policies and Procedures and Infection Control Policy. Must pass a criminal background check investigation and Level 1 Fingerprint Clearance card in accordance with NACA Policy. Certified to practice medicine in the State of Arizona and Valid Drug Enforcement Agency (DEA) license.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, & ABILITIES

  • Knowledge of primary care and diagnostic services in a clinical setting.
  • Knowledge of prescribing appropriate medications, treatments, and health regimens to treat patient health issues.
  • Ability to work in a team of healthcare professionals and collaborating with them on primary care.
  • Ability to effectively communicate verbally and in writing.
