Pathways Program Coordinator

Salary: $23.07 per hour

Job Type: Full-time (Non-exempt)

Closing Date: Until Filled

ESSENTIAL DUTIES

  • Coordinates the implementation of school, weekend activities, and events for program participant children including group education sessions.
  • Recruit and supervise counselors, mentor and/or tutor, to assist children in educational and recreational activities.
  • Develop program goals and objectives including Pathways curriculum with focus on substance use prevention.
  • Monitors program budget and tracking expenditures/transactions for each fiscal year including the preparation and submittal of grant proposals pertaining to substance abuse prevention for youth.
  • Prepare program reports and attends meetings as required.
  • Initiates and maintains contacts with parents via email, and telephone calls.
  • Maintains case management practices and documents in participant files documenting program activities including the interaction with families, schools, and case staffing.
  • Performs quality assurance through quarterly file reviews and the implementation of parent satisfaction surveys.
  • Distributes pertinent information to parents regarding community and social resources and networks extensively with schools to make referrals to other social service agencies when necessary.
  • Supervises department staff and volunteers.
  • Occasionally, coordinates transportation for participants including parental authorization.
  • Supports and promotes Zero Suicide Initiatives with Pathways program participants.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENT

Bachelor’s Degree in education, recreational leadership, or a related field; Two or more years of previous experience implementing educational and recreational programs for children including general counseling/mentoring is preferred or a minimum of an Associate’s Degree in educational or recreational leadership with experience sufficient to successfully perform the essential duties of the position. Level 1 Fingerprint Clearance card, BLS Certificate, and HIPAA Certification (can be acquired before and/or after hire). Possess a valid Arizona Driver’s License. Must complete/pass background check in accordance with NACA policy.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILL, AND ABILITIES

  • Knowledge of education/instructional principles, practices and techniques for children in grades 1 – 5.
  • Knowledge of a variety of education/recreational instruction and leadership.
  • Show friendly, hands-on interaction with the children and helping with the program.
  • Excellent written and oral communications skills and interpersonal skills as applied to interaction with coworkers, supervisors, parents, children, etc. Show sufficiency to exchange or convey information. Being culturally aware is a plus.
  • Knowledge of recreational and educational activities such as climbing, skiing, crafts, etc., sufficient to develop and lead recreational activities.
  • Ability to schedule and coordinate activities.
  • Ability to use a personal computer and Microsoft software.
  • Ability to represent in a professional manner.
